Ask a question

"Even if the countries where women are in the world be different - if the wind and also the air are variable - all women are bound together in a similar accord concerning peace and love; in one kind of accord."
- Empress Menen Asfaw of Ambassel

Calling all woman of Right!!
Empress Menen ("Itege" in Amharic) served her beloved Ethiopia with dignity and grace during her long lifetime. She married Ras Tafari on Auguest 3, 1911. A mother of ten children, her philanthropic work on behalf of the poor is legendary; among her titles are the Light of Ethiopia and Conquering Lioness of Judah. She is the sole Empress in history to be crowned at the same time as the King, on November 2, 1930.
