Calling all Black woman of Right!!
The great melanin Queen, Empress Menen ("Itege" in Amharic) served her beloved Ethiopia with dignity and grace during her long lifetime. She married Ras Tafari (Haile Selassie) on Auguest 3, 1911 and was his trusted advisor and confidante. A mother of ten children, her philanthropic work and concern for the liberation of the poor is legendary; among her titles are the Light of Ethiopia and Conquering Lioness of Judah. Celebrated in poems and reggae music, this Black power Goddess is the sole Empress in history to be crowned at the same time as the King, on November 2, 1930.
